PausedFounder·2019—2022

—65% week-over-week retention
—$1M raised
—Accepted into Google for Startups and NVIDIA's AI program
—PenelopeAI conversational agent
PRODUCT DECISIONS
—Designed for the modern relationship, not the “joint account.”: Decoupled from the joint-banking metaphor around “collaborative autonomy”: shared visibility but separate accounts, mutual decisions but no forced merges, joint control but granular privacy.
—A product-led retention loop.: Tracked “shared moments per week per pod” and conversation frequency as the north star instead of DAU/MAU.
—Emotional UX as a strategy lever.: Tested every word for emotional friction (“Pay Now” became “Just a Heads Up”). Treated emotional trust as a tier-one KPI.
—Sequencing for trust: Visibility, then Mobility, then Intelligence.: PenelopeAI enters like a good therapist, listening first, value second, solutions later.
—Intentional tradeoffs.: No auto-split on first use, preview-and-confirm flows, removed the paywall after it caused activation friction. Litmus test: “Would this make a user feel more in sync, or more managed?”
